Sport was the first environment in which our founder, Matt Krog, understood high performance.
As a junior rugby league player, Matt was part of the Brisbane Broncos development pathway before a serious spinal injury at 16 forced him to rethink the future he had been working towards. His playing pathway ended, but his connection to sport and the standards it instilled remained.
After building more than a decade of experience across corporate, commercial and employment law, Matt saw a recurring problem in the sporting industry. Legal services were fragmented. Athletes, agents and sports businesses were often forced to choose between lawyers who understood the law but not their environment, and industry contacts who understood sport but lacked the expertise required when the stakes increased.
Aus Sports Law was established to close that gap.
